Welcome Seniors!
Congratulations! You will soon be graduating, what a special milestone! It certainty should be celebrated!
Whether you are graduating from High School or College, this marks a step in the right direction for your future, you should be proud!
My Senior Portrait sessions are easy going, and lots of fun! — I have different package options for different needs: You can choose the length of your session, how many outfits you want to change into and how many locations you'd like to be photographed in. The choice is yours!
Follow along for some very useful tips on what to wear, how to accessorize and most importantly, how you can relax and have fun! Trust me, the more relaxed you are, the better you will like the end results!
You can let your personality shine through by choosing just the outfits that are "you", the location and more. Are you outdoorsy? Do you enjoy reading a book under a pretty tree in the Fall? Do you play sports for your school team?
We can incorporate some of your favorite activities to your session.
What do I wear?
Ok, this is probably the most frequently asked questions (for any Portrait session - not just Seniors)
My biggest tip: wear what you feel the most comfortable in. Sounds simple enough! I always suggest 3 outfit options: Casual, Formal and activity/sports related. When you book your Senior Session with me, you will receive my complete Style Guide to help you with this! I got you!
-Be COMFY:
Again, choose something that is comfortable enough to walk around in, sit, get up, maybe sit down again!
Avoid bold patterns, outfits that cling too much, or are itchy, damaged or wrinkled.
-Be bright and even bold!
If you need an opinion on the outfits you have already picked, don't be afraid to send a picture!
-Don't forget to add layers:
A vest in the fall, a coat, a cute hat. They are all easy enough to remove, and by doing so, voilà: you have a whole different look without having to change!
-Can we use accessories?
You bectha!
Add bracelets, watches, cute shoes... oh the possibilities! These small items can really bring out your personality.
Professional Hair and Make-up, is it necessary?
Yes and No. It's up to you.
Do I recommend it? Yes
Can you do your own make up pretty well? Then go for it.
Are you someone who rarely does anything to your hair? Then let it be naturally you.
Do you LOVE the opportunity to dress up, get you nails done, hair and make up professionally done, for special occasions? Well this is one of those occasions! Your Senior Portraits session is the PERFECT excuse to do so!
Your usual daily makeup routine might not show on your images as well as a nicely done professional one.
If professional hair and makeup is not an option, please don't worry!
I recommend doing your makeup a bit heavier than usual. Add a pop of color to your lips, a bit more mascara than usual and your features will show that much better!
Guys, be sure to shave/properly trim facial hair the morning of your session. A fresh hair cut a day or 2 prior to your session is great too!
Use plenty of sunscreen in the weeks/days leading up to your session to avoid sunburn or tan lines, and avoid spray tans!
Can I bring any props?
Sure thing! Props are not to take away from you, rather complete your look/style. Less is definitely more.
Examples:
A favorite Book
Musical Instrument
Sports equipment/Jacket
Jersey/uniforms
Cap and gown if you have one,
Any hobbies that you enjoy.
EYEGLASSES
Glare on some types of lenses is hard to avoid, if you have an extra pair that you can pop the lens out, bring that. I promise nobody will know you had the lens removed. We avoid glare, and you still look "you". It's a win-win!
Day of session:
Relax! Enjoy!
I have a pop-up pod where you can change into you outfits with privacy. Dress in one of the outfits you have selected, pack everything else. Have outfits paired to their accessories, props, shoes, and try them on the day before.
Arrive a few minutes early so you can do any last minute makeup and hair check.
I will coach you every step of the way! I got you!
Don't forget to relax and enjoy the moment. Your images will certainly reflect that! Leave all the stress at home and I'll do the rest!
